Well let me start by commenting on the most spoken word in the engineering college premises in Indian Engineering colleges. Placement. As soon as the 3rd year begins to close itself, the placement buzz starts doing the round. Asking 'seniors' about their experience, diggin websites and communties, become a ritual. Companies visit and people get 'placed'. Well, nothing wrong in that but then let us analyse the rationale behind this scenario. Most of the students who secure admission into engineering college come from middle-class families where parents dream that though the education that I am making available to my child is coming at a price, some day my 'dheekra'(common dialect for son) will pay me back. The indian child, sanskar wala bachha that he/she is,predictably, strives to secure atleast 60% each semester and secure placement into one of the so called top-notch IT company. Well, nothing wrong with this except the fact that this is slowly leading to Indian attitude of providing service and raking in the mollah! Where will then innovation come from? Why does India have so less entrepreneurs where as US 'produces' them in batches?
I know of many 'able' friends of mine who are too intelligent for the comapnies they have been placed in but are nevertheless too happy to have been 'placed'. To acheive and to innovate, we Indians have to come out of this 'safe' shell. We need to provide an impetus to excel.
Bottomline is: Placemnts do tend to make you Complacent.
The system has to change, correct, but it is we who have to initiate. Start! Live your dreams!

Dude i dont agree on this ..see i am frm middle class family ...i can tke loan n go to us ..but i dnt wanna ..nyways thats my chice ,,see our parents are puttinn on 45000 every yr ..Why?
to see their beloved child have good stable future...wallah the ans is a good stable company ...by the way i am really againts guys Goin to US fr education (no offense to my frnnds) ...at the same time its nt their fault ..i mean why cant our country be like US n people frm US cum to INDIA fr higher stdies ..thats the prob ..whch can be solved by gov nt by us atleast till this date no has made attempt
the above comment is entirely beside the point .. its true there are very few entrepreneurs in india... and ppl dont go to the US to become entrepreneurs ..if it was really in u ..u cud do it right here...ppl go to the us to get a better higher education...which is not as good in india...and then after that..they do the same thing for the US companies that we do for indian companies..after all wat is the diff betn indian companies and US comapanies? US companies outsource work to indian companies..so technically u r doing the same thing by working there..studying in the US or working there does not mean u will be an entrepreneur..
